weeklies #1

An eidetic approach to images is undeniable throughout Lynch’s filmography. Whenever the cinematic continuum is interrupted, torn apart from the inside by a sudden eruption of visions, hallucinations, or revelations, it is the idea that emerges with arrogance from the deep waters of the unconscious. An unconscious that is not only individual but also social, historical, cultural, spectacular, biological, geological, and cosmic. Therefore, the idea seems to be born from an “inside” that is always and intrinsically “outside”, like a Möbius ribbon that criss-crosses and binds everything that exists.

Now, one might ask: What are these images? What do they mean? What do they want from us?

it's what you've all been waiting for

Zoloft

Everything is just kind of okay now. I still have all my bitterness and nihilism, but it's more fun and less myopic angst. I will say being medicated makes me daydream about writing, since the characters I think about are all just depression tulpas.

Sucking Dick

Let's get one thing straight: I hate sex. Sex is a pissing contest. It's been none of the things people claim it is. Once I started having sex I realized no one is interested unless I can achieve some physical feats: taking it up the ass, coming multiple times in a row, and choking on dick.

So when I say I 'like' sucking dick, it's more accurate to say I've felt the thrill of a physical act of courage. Getting a man to ejaculate in my mouth is the comparable to performing a throw in self-defense class. Now I have a way to gain power over someone.

More cool stuff I found online.

Reading thru this tutorial from Processing about net art and they start out with a surprisingly in-depth brief on 90s internet art.

jodi.org

https://wwwwwwwww.jodi.org/ From the Processing tutorial. They dropped a link to this site and it's got that delicious Web 1.0 hyper-link labyrinth thing going on.

Mark Napier

potatoland.org

Name-dropped in the Processing tutorial. Napier hosts some experimental browsers that seed chaos into sites the user visits: Shredder peels back the careful construction of the site and displays the plain text of the site in ribbon-like shreds of data, while Riot blends and overlays assets from each site the user visits through the browser.

Stuff I Liked In 2023

The cover of Dennis Cooper's Period

stuff i liked this year

Dennis Cooper

it's like something was missing from my life before I read Frisk. ive never had to read everything by an author before, but this time I did. Then I went to therapy.

Rayuela by Julio Cortézar

this is like my bible. anything that has 'eschews traditional narrative structure' in it is like catnip to me. unfortunately i had to read it linearly instead of jumping around as recommended cause i pirated an EPUB.

Shot & Chaser by E.K/bigbigtruck

i latched on to indie comics and yaoi scanlations in middle school cause i was already terminally online. tj & amal was life-changing. bigbigtruck's work just gets right to the heart of stuff. SAC is so economical with its characterizations, just fleshing out an entire Type of Guy in a few pages. And I love how much they're putting into the weather illustrations.

xhamster.com

porn does nothing for me. but I love to study it. I started getting into that on pornhub right as FOSTA-SESTA hit a
